It is historically significant as a representation of post war flats in the Fremantle area.ArchaeologyConditionCondition assessed as good (assessed from streetscape survey only).HistoryEllen Street was named for Ellen Mangles of Woodbridge, Surrey, England, wife of Sir James Stirling, the Governor. In 1941 plans were approved by Fremantle council for brick flats to be constructed for Mrs M. Silbert of 43 Ellen Street. The builder was J. Kessell of Perth at a cost of £1,050. Physical DescriptionEllen Court, 33-35 Ellen Street, is a two storey brick and tile residential flats. The walls are painted brick. The roof is hipped and clad with tiles. The façade is symmetrical with open verandah/balcony areas to the corners on each floor. Each floor has rectangular windows. ‘Ellen Court’ appears on the facade in lettering.
