The place contributes to a substantially intact late nineteenth and early twentieth century streetscape close to the centre of Fremantle.ArchaeologyConditionHistoryEllen Street was named for Ellen Mangles of Woodbridge, Surrey, England, wife of Sir James Stirling, the Governor. A house was erected on the lot for Edward Larsen in 1928/29. Physical DescriptionSingle storey tuck pointed brick with rendered banding at sill height and a terracotta tile hipped and small gable roofed house. The roof has a tall brick chimney and extends over the verandah which is supported by timber posts.
