Mrs Eliza Whitburn was a long-term resident from c1910 to the late 1920s. Numbers were allocated in c1915. The house was originally No. 177. It became number 100 when the whole street was renumbered in 1939. The 1911 sewerage map (No. 2133) shows a small rectangular cottage with a roof in two parts and no front or rear verandah at that stage. Aerial photos show that between 1995 and 1999 the lot was subdivided and another house built at the rear. No. 100 was reroofed.Physical DescriptionHouse, 100 Forrest Street is a single storey timber framed house constructed in the vernacular style of architecture. The construction of the place is an unusual form due to the skillion roof which slopes from the front of the original house to the back. The walls are weatherboard clad and the skillion roof is clad with Zincalume. The front verandah is under a separate Zincalume clad roof supported by square timber posts between vertical timber balustrading over a timber floor. The verandah returns on the western side (return may not be original) There are timber framed double hung sash windows which flank the central entrance door. The place has single storey simple timber framed and weatherboard clad additions. There is a timber picket fence to the front boundary line fronting the garden.AssociationPaul Dwyer.Place UseOriginal Use – RESIDENTIAL: Single storey residencePresent Use – RESIDENTIAL: Single storey residenceIntegrity/AuthenticityPlace TypeIndividual Building or Group
