This house is first recorded in the Post Office Directories in 1911 when it was occupied by William McKay. It has not been established if he was the owner of the property when it was built. He occupied the house until 1914. Further research of certificates of title and rates books for the period would help to establish the date of construction and the original owner of the property. Later occupants were Joseph Sanderson, Mrs E. Mercer and Mrs A. E. McKay between 1930 and 1940. This last occupant may have had some familial relationship with the original occupant.Physical Description10 Grey Street is a single storey, limestone, brick and iron house with a symmetrical facade designed as an example of the Federation Bungalow style of architecture. The walls are limestone with brick quoins. The roof is hipped and clad with corrugated iron with a gable over the front door. The facade has a central front door with fanlight flanked either side with timber framed casement windows. The verandah has a continuous corrugated iron roof with gable above front door, and is supported by timber posts.
