The place has aesthetic value for its contribution to the streetscape and the surrounding area. It is representative of the typical building stock located within the residential areas of Fremantle. It is historically significant as a representation of typical workers' houses in the Fremantle area. The place is an example of the Inter-War California Bungalow style of architecture.ArchaeologyConditionGood.HistoryHoldsworth Street was originally named Doonan Street; the change of name occurred c. 1901. Joseph Doonan was the Comptroller of the Prison and J. Doonan & Sons were also storekeepers in Adelaide Street. Lionel Holdsworth owned a large amount of land in the area and after his death in 1901 the street name was changed. In 1939/40 a house was built on Lot 6 of 479 for Antony Cicerello. Antony was still the owner/occupier in 1951/52.Physical DescriptionSingle storey brick (to dado height with roughcast render above inside veranda area) and rendered, terracotta tile hipped gable roof house, set back from the pavement behind a low rendered wall. The roof has a simple chimney and two half-timbered gables; the most prominent fronts the veranda and is supported by decorative masonry pillars onto a low rendered wall.
