It is historically significant as a representation of typical workers' houses in the Fremantle area. The house is Lot 2 of 615.Physical DescriptionHouse, 18 Howard Street is a single storey brick and tile house constructed in the Inter-War California Bungalow style of Architecture. The walls are painted rendered brick. The roof is hipped with two street facing gables, and clad with tiles. The gables have horizontal and timber decorative panelling, similar to No 20 Howard Street. The verandah is under one gable roof, supported by rendered columns and a rendered half wall balustrade. The asymmetrical front façade has three timber framed casement windows under the other gable roof with a flat awning hanging from steel brackets. The facade under the verandah roof has similar timber framed casement windows. The house is situated at street level.
