At that time one half of the lot was vacant and owned by Elias Solomon, the other half contained a cottage owned by Henry Sharpe. By 1897 the lot had been divided into three parts with Thomas Earle White owning one vacant part, Willyman Electrical Engineering and co-owned the second vacant part and Henry Sharpe still owned the cottage on the third. In 1900 Thomas Earle White erected two houses on his part of the lot, that later became known as number 46 and 48. In 1937/38 they became number 12 and 14 James Street. T E White and then the estate of Thomas Earle White, owned the cottages until the 1940s. Physical DescriptionDuplex, 12-14 James Street is a single storey stone (partially rendered) and brick attached pair with quoining to corners and window and door openings, divided by a masonry firewall.
