The place contributes to a substantially intact late nineteenth and early twentieth century streetscape close to the centre of Fremantle.ArchaeologyConditionHistoryMalcolm Street was named for Sir Malcolm Fraser, the Commissioner of Lands and First Agent General for Western Australia in London (1892). Two cottages were built on the lot for Thomas Whitely, a builder, in 1888. In 1894 there were three cottages on the lot. One owned by Thomas Whitely, one owned by James Whitely and one owned by Joh J Whitely. Physical DescriptionSingle storey limestone and brick house which has a tuck pointed brick bay.
