The place has aesthetic value for its contribution to the streetscape and the surrounding area. It is representative of the typical building stock located within the residential areas of Fremantle. It is historically significant as a representation of typical workers' houses in the Fremantle area. The place is an example of the Federation Bungalow style of architecture. ArchaeologyConditionCondition assessed as good (assessed from streetscape survey only).HistoryThe Metropolitan Sewerage Plan of 1911 shows a rectangular weatherboard house at the front of the block with a verandah on the right hand side of the house and a room protruding on the left. The plan also shows a W.C. approximately half way down the block with another attached outhouse. In 2009 a colour photo shows a double fronted house with a protruding room on the left hand side with a weatherboard gable end and a corrugated iron roof with a ridge running back and a window with a canopy, on the right hand side a porch with a verandah under the main roof, the front door on the left hand side and a window on the right hand side. There is a brick chimney towards the rear of the house on the left hand side.Physical DescriptionHouse, 105 Marmion Street is a single storey timber and zincalume house constructed in the Federation Bungalow style of Architecture. The walls are timber framed and clad with painted timber boards. The roof is hipped and gabled and clad with zincalume. The verandah is under the main roof supported by steel posts.
