The place has aesthetic value for its contribution to the streetscape and the surrounding area. It is representative of the typical building stock located within the residential areas of Fremantle. It is historically significant as a representation of typical workers' houses in the Fremantle area. The place is an example of the Federation Bungalow style of architecture. ArchaeologyConditionCondition assessed as fair (assessed from streetscape survey only).HistoryThe Metropolitan Sewerage map sheet 2133 dated November 1928 shows a timber dwelling (previously no. 198, crossed out and replaced with no. 125 on the plan) with a front and a rear verandah. There are several outbuildings at the rear of the house, including a timber outbuilding towards the rear of the block on the right hand side and an asbestos garage at the rear of the block on the left hand side.Physical DescriptionHouse, 125 Marmion Street is a single storey timber and Colourbond house constructed in the Federation Bungalow style of Architecture. The walls are timber framed and clad with painted timber boards. The roof is hipped and gabled and clad with Colourbond, with exposed rafters. The verandah stretches across the entire front of the house, and is supported by timber posts. There is a fibrous cement sheeting infilled balustrade to one section. The symmetrical façade has a main door flanked by pairs of timber framed double hung sash windows. The house is situated at street level.
