(Old catalogue number CE-002) The plaque has a wooden base with a coloured etched drawing of ship plus an inlaid coin of Commander Carrier Group Seven.
Also gold inscription plate; ‘Presented to The Honorable Richard Utting Mayor of Fremantle 6 June 2000’Date6th June 2000ProvenancePlaque gifted to the City of Fremantle by the US Commander of Carrier Group Seven on 6th June 2000 after a visit to port. This Aircraft Carrier group has gone through several name changes but Commander Carrier Group Seven was designated on 30th June 1973 and existed up till 2004 when it went through another name change to Carrier Strike Group 7. When Carrier Group Seven visited Fremantle in June 2000, it’s commander was Admiral Gerald L Hoewing.
