DateBetween 1st January 2018 and 31st December 2018ProvenancePart of a large Sister City gift collection presented by a delegation from the Capo D’Orlando Sister City - Anita Paparone, representing the Mayor of Capo d’Orlando Dr Francesco Ingrilli, and Comandante Maria Teresa Castano were invited to Fremantle to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Blessing of the Fleet.
The tiny statue of the Madonna di Capo d’Orlando was gifted to Fremantle in 1952 and continues to be a focal point of the annual Blessing of the Fleet procession.
During their visit our guests have also attended the Wardarnji Festival, had a tour of the sights and sounds of Fremantle and taken a trip over to Rottnest.Relevance to the CityFremantle and Capo’D Orlando have been sister cities since 1983
