Edgar was born on the 2nd March 1881 in Maidstone Kent to Isaac and Isabella Bolton. He had several siblings, with, Herbert 1869, Harry 1871, Arthur 1873, Alfred 1876, Maud 1877, Leonard 1878, Isabel 1882 and Cecil 1885.
The Bolton family moved to Fremantle WA late 1880's and started up a firm of Coach Builders. Through the 1900's Edgar worked for family company Bolton and Sons Carriage and Coach builders which was located at 27-45 William St Fremantle.
Edgar Bolton got into trouble in the 1900's for misadventures. In 1903 he was charged with furious riding along South Beach and was fined 5 shillings.
In 1912 Edgar was living at 212-216 South Terrace Fremantle. (later renumbered to 180 South Tce).
Edgar tried to enlist into the Australian Imperial Force in 1915 but was knocked back due to defective eyesight. Edgar still wanted to do his bit and volunteered for work as a Munitions Worker in England instead. The Australian Munitions Workers scheme started seeking volunteers in the middle of August 1916. Edgar then spent the next few years in England.
In 1919 he returned to Western Australia and then moved to Newton Road Spearwood.
In 1931 Edgar was at Namban WA and was working as a farmer. Namban is located just north of Moora.
By 1937 he had returned to Perth and was living at 41 Marlborough St East Perth. In 1943 he had moved to 348 Lord St East Perth and was working as a factory hand.
In 1954 Edgar had moved to 217 Townsend Rd Subiaco.
Edgar Bolton died on the 15th September 1957 in Subiaco WA aged 76. He was cremated at Karrakatta Cemetery.
