The object has multiple identification numbers. Two numbers are written on the sides of the plaque: “3523” and “368-124.” An additional number, “392,” appears on an orange sticker on the front of the plaque. A handwritten note on the back of the plaque reads “SAS Barracks Swanbourne Deaccession GB83.”
The date referenced in the inscription “Founded 1853” is inconsistent with known historical dates, as Fremantle was founded in 1829 and the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce was established in 1873.
