A warehouse building on the lot (3 Collie Street) housed newly arrived convicts until the prison was built in 1855. The building was later a wool store. It was demolished in 1985 to make way for extensions to the Esplanade Hotel. An Architectural Record was prepared by Ian Molyneux & Assoc. for the City of Fremantle on 16.1.1985. It includes measured drawings and photographs.
