The Fremantle Women's Choir (FWC) began as the Fremantle Community Choir in September 1987. It was a mixed-voice adult choir formed by Community Arts Officer, Roslyn Porter, under the auspices of the Fremantle City Council. In September 1989 it was renamed the Fremantle Choir and became an incorporated association, registered as Fremantle Choir Incorporated. By 1999 natural attrition resulted in an all-women membership and in 2006 it became the Fremantle Women's Choir. During its rich history the choir has evolved but its main objective remains unchanged: to sing with passion and joy and produce quality performances for our friends, family, and community.
