Reference numberE000272DescriptionThis duplex was built in 1892 for the owner James Cornish who occupied one half of the duplex. The duplex remained in the Cornish family until at least 1911. One half of the duplex (28) was transferred to Agnes Nicholas. The Cornish family retained the current 24 Wray Avenue until at least the 1950s. Later owners of the other half included Henry Cecil Matthews; Albert Penniment; and Denis John Brennan. The 1908 sewerage plan of the site shows this brick duplex was a simple rectangular plan, each duplex half had front verandahs. In the back yard for each duplex half were a timber shed and a brick closet.Date1985PhotographerWatkins, SkipPhotograph FormatPhotographDigital ItemYes
