Reference numberE000820-28DescriptionThis building wsa constructed in 1898 as the North Fremantle Police Station, Lockup and Quarters by the Western Australian Government to service the rapidly growing district of North Fremantle. The buildings comprised a public office, exercise yard and three cells with attached residences. Following the closure of the Police Station in 1969 the North Fremantle Post Office moved into the premises and post boxes were place in the window openings.
