Named afterFrank Del Rosso (1914–2007) who migrated to Fremantle in 1920.He worked as a professional fisherman and was involved in the estabishment of the Fremantle fishermen's Cooperative. Mr Del Rosso also worked extensively with Italian prisoners-of-war wanting to settle in Western Australia after World War II, helping as an interpreter. He was awarded the Insignia Della Solidarieta Italiana for Services to Western Australia's Italian community in 1964 and the Italian Friendship Award in 1985. Mr Del Rosso married Maria Salevimini in the 1940s, a union that lasted 63 years. He became a Justice of the Peace in 1964 and was an elected City of Fremantle Councillor 1973–1985 and 1987–1992 and was Deputy Mayor 1978–1980. He died on 19.01.2007 aged 92.
