Named afterCharles D. Wright, Clerk, is the name of an early pioneer who arrived aboard the "Parmelia" on 1/6/1829 [Caldwell, K.]. According to Mrs Bullock, 14/4/1993, Wright Street was named after George Wright, a contractor, who cut the track using horse and dray for access to cottages in the area.
