Main Roads DepartmentDescriptionStirling Highway is the primary arterial road directly linking the Perth CBD and the port of Fremantle. This link was developed in during the mid 19th century and has become increasingly important with the expansion and growing dominance of both the city and the port. Subsequent development of Perth, Fremantle and land abutting the highway has placed increasing pressure on the highway. This policy plan has examined road, traffic and land use conditions and future traffic forecasts to evaluate their effects upon the highway. The objective of this study was to develop a preliminary Policy Plan and Carriageway Plan in association with comprehensive Land Protection Plans for that section of Stirling Highway extending from Tydeman Road, North Fremantle to Hackett Drive in CrawleyImprintPerth, W.A. 1990Collation2 v. 30 cm.LanguageEnglishDate Published1990Notes Copy held offsite with Council Archives PC0991; Spiral binding; "June 1990" Volume 1 is final report.
