The place contributes to a substantially intact late nineteenth and early twentieth century streetscape close to the centre of Fremantle. ArchaeologyConditionHistoryIn 1888 two houses were erected on lot 27 for James Gilchrist. In 1896 the lot and houses owned by James Gilchrist changed from 27 to 29. Lot 27 was vacant and owned by William Wray. In 1897 William Wray erected four cottages on the lot, two of which were number 25-27. Physical DescriptionDuplex 27-29 Tuckfield Street is a single storey stone (no 27 is rendered) building with tuck pointed brick quoining to corners and window and door openings to the walls of the house.
