The place contributes to a substantially intact late nineteenth and early twentieth century streetscape close to the centre of Fremantle.ArchaeologyConditionHistoryThe house was built in 1903/04 for John Bateman and the first occupant was Yaldwyn, a bank manager. It is possible a house was built on the lot in 1892/93 but it may have been demolished as the lot was vacant from 1899 to 1903. Physical DescriptionSingle storey roughcast rendered house with a terracotta tile hipped and half timbered gabled roof with a central chimney.
