Hope who was appointed as the surgeon for Fremantle Prison in 1886. In November 1897 he was the Acting Superintendent of the Lunatic Asylum. House, 16 Hope Street was constructed in 1900 by the government. Between 1912 and 1915 ownership was transferred to the occupant. Physical DescriptionSingle storey timber framed and weatherboard clad walls and a corrugated iron gabled roof house.
