She outlines the support she received from her family, particularly her sisters and of the process of obtaining a student visa to Australia. She describes her feelings on leaving Zimbabwe and her reception in WA. Because Zimbabwe was colonised by Britain, much of the culture had been anglicised and Clara was able to manage life in Western Australia with growing confidence.
