AuthorStevens, LarraineDescription Interview was recorded in September and October of 2011. Fauzia Sufizada nee Abede was born in Kabul on 2 April 1979. She tells her story of growing up in Kabul, the effects of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979 and the arrival of the Taliban in 1996. Her husband Farid was taken by the Taliban in 2001. The family was not reunited until 2009 in Australia. The interview also outlines the emotional trauma experienced by the family as well as financial and cultural difficulties in trying to settle in a new country.ImprintFremantle, W.
