He talks of every aspect of his life in the area, from growing up in poor circumstances, his schooling and his memories of the fishing community. Bob speaks of his numerous jobs in the Fremantle community, including memories of work at Robbs Jetty Abattoir, and some of his experiences on Swedish merchant ships. Bob was also heavily involved in the South Fremantle Football Club and was associated with the setting up of The 'Dockers' Football Club. He talks colourfully of the club and looks at its importance in the multicultural community of Fremantle.
